Membership at SGPA is open and any one is welcome to apply. We are a private neighborhood pool association operating as a 501(c) 7 organization. Use of the facilities is limited to our members and their guests. The pool is open from 7:00AM to 10:30PM daily expect for routine maintenance, construction and private member events.

Our members-only format allows us to enforce the rules that help maintain a safe, secure and friendly environment that generations of members have enjoyed for over 75 years. Members need a reliable cell phone to receive text messages from the association and to unlock gates accessing the pool.

Membership terms are for 6 months at a time (Jan 1 to June 30 and July 1 to December 31). Initial memberships are prorated. The cost of a 6-month membership is $240. There is a refundable deposit of $300 and a non-refundable application fee of $100 when your membership is approved.

Candidates for membership must complete an application and submit it to the association board for approval. The board reserves the right to approve or reject any candidate.

Unfortunately, our pool and grounds are not ADA compliant and this should be taken into consideration when requesting membership. Members and guests use the pool at their own risk as the association does not provide lifeguards.

Guests are allowed to visit the pool only when accompanied by the member or eligible dependent and must adhere to the same rules and procedures as members.

A guest must always be accompanied by a member and never left alone. Members allowing guests to use the pool unaccompanied risk having their membership suspended or terminated.

The association limits the frequency and the number of guest visits to the pool. Policies have been enacted prevening guest access from interfering with other members use of the pool at the same time.

What days and hours is the pool open?
The pool is open seven (7) days a week and only closes during bad weather, construction or maintenance. The hours are 7:00AM to 10:30PM daily.
When is the pool closed for chemical treatments?
The pool is scheduled to close at 5:00PM every Thursday and reopen Friday morning at 7:00AM. It safely takes 12 hours for the pool pumps to circulate the concentrated chlorine.
What happens if I am using the pool after hours?
The pool closes at 10:30PM daily. If you are still in the pool enclosure after it closes you may still exit using the pool gate. However, the gate will not permit entrance after 10:30PM.
What happens if I accidentally leave my phone in the pool enclosure and cannot get back in?
Hopefully someone else is inside the pool enclosure to let you back in otherwise you would have to wait for someone else to arrive or borrow another phone to call pool staff.
Can I leave the front/entrance gate open?
Yes. It is encouraged to leave this gate open to allow for emergency personnel in the event of an accident. If another member is in the pool when you leave, it is their responsibility to close and lock the gate.
What if someone shows up and wants to use the pool but forgot their phone?
You should never allow anyone access to the pool. Should they not be a member and cause damage, you could be held responsible. The lock records the name, time and date of anyone with permission to unlock it.
When does my membership renew?
All memberships expire on June 30 and December 31. The association will send renewal messages to everyone as a reminder. Memebers have 30 days to renew.
What happens if I am late paying my membership fee?
After 30 days, all phones on the account are deactivated. You would need to pay a late fee, reactivation fee and the 6 month membership to restore access.
Can I lose my membership?
The Board will revoke any membership for:
  • Non-Payment of membership fees after 60 days
  • Repeated violation of Association policies and procedures
  • Damages to Association property
I need more than three (3) phones on my account, can I have more?
No. The board set a limit so it could limit pool access for security reasons. If a family member is no longer using a phone, you may request a transfer to a different phone.
Can my children swim without an adult being present?
No. Anyone under the age of seventeen (17) may not use the pool because the Association does not employ a lifeguard. For the safety of all minors, a responsible adult must be with them at all times.
How many guests can I take to the pool?
The family may take up to three (3) guests for a maximum of two (2) times a month. The guest policy is applied to the entire family as a whole, not each member of the family. Guests must always be accompanied by an adult member of the family.
Can anyone schedule a private party at the pool?
No. The pool is only available for use by its members. Only a member can reserve the pool for a private event.
How many people can attend a private party?
The maximum amount of attendees at any event depends upon the type of booking. The limit is twenty (20) for a small event and forty (40) for a large one. The limit includes the members and all invited guests.
What is the cost for reserving the pool for a private event?
The fee is $100 for a small event and $200 for a large one. A deposit of $100 is also payable at the time of booking. It will be refunded if there are no damages.
What is the purpose the board?
The association is a 501(c)(7) tax exempt organization designed for non-profitable social purposes, much like an HOA. The board oversees all finances of the pool and ensures it operates in a fiscal manner. An elected board with officers is required under current Internal Revenue Service guidelines.
Who can serve on the board?
Any current member may be nominated and elected to fulfill a vacancy on the board. Board members serve on a rotating three (3) cycle. There are at least two (2) vanancies every year. They are elected at the annual meeting.
